Black Lives Matter

hurt tiger

Is this what we call development?
The process of becoming a discriminative dolt,
Creating a divided society,
From what was given to us a free world.

How did we wake up to suddenly just think
That some people were better than others
Just because of the colour of their skin,
That the black aren’t someone’s sisters or brothers,
And should be treated like vermin,
That nature somehow branded the good and the bad,
Creating wars no one could win,
Separating a child from his dad?

The stupid idea of dividing the human race
Into innumerable incoherent groups,
Has somehow managed to survive bloodstained wars and epidemics,
And still let the world be ruled by a bunch of nincompoops.

In a time when everybody fears disease,
Colour still makes you vulnerable,
Being different might not let you live to see tomorrow,
Even after millions’ decease.

Being born with even a tenuous contrast to the majority is such a sin,
That it justifies you being murdered pitilessly,
Even as you beg for breath for the hundredth time,
Expecting only for the world to see you as kin.

What is happening is indescribably and evidently utter idiocy,
As impossible as it may seem for this to betide
When one looks at the very beginning,
Humans messed up greatly, trying to honour their stupid pride.

While requiring great unity and extremely hard,
We need to put an end to this,
We need to change minds,
Which may be seemingly inconceivable,
But it helps to remember that someone created these improbable stereotypes.
